Hello. It’s  a common dream of every student to get a scholarship on the way to develop a bright carrier. My students frequently ask me whether it is easy to get a scholarship to carry on study in college or university in home or abroad. Many of them even don’t know how to apply for the scholarship, where to get the scholarship information or scholarship form, scholarship formalities,  requirement and lot others. Here i will try to break the ice.

You may be reading this article because you’ve already concluded that you will apply for scholarships.  Here I am to tell you something about the scholarship search sites.

Scholarship Search provides students and parents with a FREE/paid searchable database of college scholarships and grants.  Some sites needs your registration & some don’t need. They always update their database & it’s their common claim. Don’t be attracted by their amount for you to choose from! You can apply for student loans, scholarships and grants. Before you apply for student loans, you should definitely search for college scholarships and grants that pertain to your background and skill set. Because unlike student loans, scholarships do not have to be paid back! Think about your privacy in their site.You may find some Scholarship sites have good information about part time job/teaching assistant ship/internship.


I will write more about it very soon. Here I give a list of some top scholarship sites. I will try to update the list frequently.

1.  Fastweb : They have scholarship range from High school freshman to Graduate school 5 th year and a good database for Jobs and Internships. According to them 1 in 8 applicants win scholarships. They have a good active discussion board too. Need to register.

2.  Scholarship dot Com : This site has good database on scholarships and student loan. You may find some attractive success stories. Need to register.

3. Studentscholarshipsearch: The scholarship database are categorized as Featured scholarships, college grants, national scholarship, graduate school scholarships etc. Besides it has good information on student loans or financial aids. Need to register.

4. Collegeboard : A good site for scholarship and financial aid search for college students. Need to register.

5.  Scholarshipscanada : Canada’s scholarship website. Need to sign up to search through it’s extensive database to find scholarships, bursaries and grants. You’ll also find information about student loans, applications and budget planning. Scholarships are available for entrance, under graduate students and graduate students.

6. Salliemae : According to their website unlike some scholarship search services, they don’t sell or rent your information. You will  be considered for a scholarship for any of the following reasons (and more):

  • Academic performance
  • Athletic achievement
  • Financial need
  • Religious affiliation
  • Minority status
  • Heritage
  • Community affiliations
  • A unique set of criteria that’s important to the organization providing fund

7.  Scholarship Expert dot com: According to Forbes web site review “The best scholarship search engine“. Forbes review says “There is no fee to search its database of national, state and local awards and the payback may be thousands of dollars in college aid. The nine-page questionnaire covers all the bases, like whether the student is from a single-parent home or the first family member to attend college.” Visit the site and find more. Need to register.
